Who called hockey games including Hockey Night in Canada games from the beginning of hockey until 1952?

If memory serves me right, HNIC didn't make its TV debut until 1952, and even then, it was being broadcast across the country via radio. I do know that Foster Hewitt made the jump from HNIC radio to HNIC TV.
